Solo Mia Designs, my Panama-inspired collection, features imported fabrics. Some are fabrics used in the everyday clothing of the women of the Guna Tribe of San Blas, Panama. Items may also include molas, the textile art created by the Gunas.
This strapless dress has a bodice made from black and yellow saburete fabric (used as a wrap skirt by Guna Indian women) and is lined in black satin, with boning for support. The fabric for the skirt is the same as the bodice and it features hand-dyed venice lace in turquoise. The fullness of the skirt is gathered onto the bodice.
